Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. To answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. Hello, honorable judges and deal schoolmates. Today my topic is “overpopulation is my top concern”.
We may have deeply felt the inconvenience and diminished quality of life that overpopulation brings about. Overburdened public transportation especially on holidays is challenging our endurance，sky-rocketing housing price discourages us purchasers，people in a few developing countries suffer from starvation and malnutrition. These hot issues have drawn my attention and raised the idea of overpopulation to my top concern.
Human is now beginning to overpopulate the earth and the expansion trend won’t be easily slowed down. Therefore many environmental problems arise，including rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide，global warming and pollution like air pollution，water pollution, soil contamination and noise pollution. Other side effects also emerge in succession. For example, wars over resources and land increase; masses of species extinct; food ,water and fossil fuels are running short; unemployment and crime rates rise dramatically and so on.
Generally speaking, overpopulation can result from increased birth rates, together with a decline in mortality rates due to medical advancements. Furthermore, increases in life expectancy and resource availability also contribute to the rising population. In consequence, humans outgrow their available resources and the basic life would be stressful in turn.
So what joint efforts can we make faced with the situation? On one hand, birth control, like one-child policy which China has strictly implemented, would help to control and reduce population gradually. On the other hand, programs such as family planning education and putting women in workforce should be announced worldwide which I think will help avoid some unintended pregnancies. Moreover, humans are expected to build space habitats in the foreseeable future thanks to further space exploration. That’s all, thank you!

heart. i’m not sure whether i have put it very clearly but believe me that there are no fixed closest friend in your life. with different time, place, space, emotion and situation, you have
different closest friends. when i play basketball, i have a closest friend who knows how to cooperate with me and together give our opponents a deadly attack; when i am alone and feel so lonely, i have a friend who can always comfort me by saying that he is my friend; when i am in need of money, the one who comes all the way and lend his money to me without any hesitation is my closest friend.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen,
When I was little, I lived in a remote village in southern China with my grandparents. Like many kids in the countryside, I enjoyed digging a hole in the opening among paddy fields, using branches and hay to bake sweet potatoes and playing hawk-and-chicken with my friends. Every Chinese New Year Eve, my grandmother would prepare our festive food called Guo. It was a tradition that neighbors help each other prepare Guo. While adults were busy pouring flour on the cutting board, pressing the paste flat and moulding it into beautiful shape, kids would run around in the village’s ancestral temple and immerse ourselves in the enchanting and cheerful smell of holiday.
Having lived in the city for the following ten years, I always feel the changes happening in my hometown every time I go back--the village looks surprisingly similar to the coastal city where I live! The opening field where I baked potatoes was leveled and a manufacturing factory has been built there, blocking the sunlight of our yard. The ancestral temple has been torn down and is now a small supermarket for villagers. The number of people knowing how to prepare Guo is diminishing and young people seem to be more interested in fast food and oblivious of traditional arts and skills. The village seems quite empty because most young people have become migrant workers in cities and only return home once or twice a year.
In the course of urbanization, villages gradually languish and die out when the passing on of traditions lose its population base. The total number of Chinese villages has declined from 3.7 million in 20xx to 2.6 million in 20xx. Approximately 300 villages in China are disappearing every day. It’s saddening to see that many ancient villages, which survived warfare and natural disasters over thousands of years, have been demolished or annexed by cities in peacetime. Lulei Village, hometown for the famous mathematician, Chen Jingrun, was an affluent village in southern China with a history of over 700 years. Since the village obstructed the construction of the local railway station, it was almost torn down, including the former residence for Chen’s family.
We Chinese have been reveling in urbanization for decades. What worries me is that one day on this way to modernization, we turn back but are unable to see the link with our origins and ancestors. When we’re surrounded by skyscrapers and neon glamour, what defines us as Chinese? Urbanization does not mean brutally encroaching upon the countryside and strangling rural culture. It should not sever the ties with our beloved homeland. While promoting the country’s economy, it should also allow space for cultural diversity. In the ideal urbanization process, we should no longer emphasize the binary opposition of city and village, but endeavor to form a reciprocal relationship between the two.
Ladies and gentlemen, fallen leaves return to the roots. If we do not redefine and reorient urbanization, we will not be able to save millions of villages, neither can we revert to the origin where we belong.

中國因其美食而聞名世界。中國美食眾多，其中包括粵菜、川菜、上海菜和湖南菜等等�？傮w來說，粵菜偏清淡，川菜很辣，上海菜很油，而湖南菜則有點(diǎn)辛辣的感覺。麻婆豆腐，清蒸魚和糖醋排骨，春卷和許多中國菜肴都很美味。在中國北方，人們會經(jīng)常吃餃子和面條。而在南方，人們則以米飯和海鮮為主。中國菜注重色香味俱全，所以我十分喜歡。

Good morning,ladies and gentlemen
today I am so happy to stand here to give you a speech.or rather, a real story of mine.
Though with time going by,I can still remember what you once told me.you should be a brave girl.smiling,you looked into my eyes.year in,year out,nearly most of my memories are fading little by little.but only this simple sentence remained,without being forgotten in my life.
Again and again,I can not stop myself from thinking about it.soordinary,but so impressive,so moving,just like the brightest sunshine,it helps me go through the darkest night.I am such a sensitive girl in your heart.you said,my sorroful facial expression made feel so
Distersssed.however,there is one thing I never tell you,that is ,I am becoming a big girl gradually with your words and smiles.I never tell you about it,for I believe oneday,you can see the great changes of mine for yourself.that is what I want to do in return.as I know,that will be the best gift for you.
I suddenly think of a song named my heart will go on.there is a beautiful sentence going like this.you are safe in my heart.more than once,I was moved to tears by it.I know ,I am also safe in your heart.I have already forgotten when I told you I was going to leave for australia this summer holiday.you just smiled as usual,gently speaking.whatever you decide to do,I will be in favor of it,but, just onething,remember,when you fell lonely abroad,do not forget we are here ,praying for you.we are all around you,far across the distance and space between us.I closed my eyes,the flashback started.the memories we had together,once we played games on the palyground,we played jokes on each other,you always wrote a lot of sentences on my articles to encourage me.and the most unforgetable thing,you told me,you believed I could be a big girl.sooner or later. at that specific moment,I suddenly understood the meaning of thissentence totally.so on that day,I smiled as you used to,looking at you.the last words I said were,keep walking in sunshine.
Yes,keep walking in sunshine.I said to you ,also to myself.I know I am not alone wiht your company,and we can keep walking in sunshine till the last minute of our days.

早上好,女士們,先生們,今天我很高興站在這里為大家演講或者更確切地說,是我的真實(shí)故事。
